Position Summary:

The Practice Manager at Speak Easy Rehabilitation will play a critical role in overseeing the clinic’s operations to ensure the efficient delivery of services and support the growth of a dynamic, client-focused team. This individual will lead daily operations, financial management, staff development, and client experience initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, empathetic, and skilled in healthcare management, with a passion for rehabilitation services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management

• Oversee and coordinate daily operations across the OT, CBRS, ABA, and ST departments to ensure optimal efficiency and quality of care.
  Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining clinic policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Oversee effective scheduling for facility use, clients, and therapists, balancing productivity with the client experience.
• Ensure adherence to all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and state licensing and certification standards.
• Conduct monthly caseload calls with therapists to update client information, and client caseload numbers and review authorization requirements.
• Oversee and ensure the organization of the office, therapy rooms, waiting room, and staff room, considering the customer’s and therapist’s ease-of-use and positive experience perspective.

Staff Leadership and Development

• Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary administrative staff and support personnel team; Assist supervisors with leading, mentoring, and supporting the therapist team.
• Conduct onboarding and training of therapists and admin staff to maintain a high-performing team.
• Assist with conducting and facilitating regular performance evaluations providing feedback to encourage staff growth and retention.
• Facilitate bi-monthly team meetings to keep staff informed, aligned, and motivated.
• Ensure and coordinate regular staff celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries, etc….)

Financial Management

• Coordinate with billing personnel to ensure accurate and timely insurance claims, billing, medical authorizations, and collections.
• Participate in providing financial performance metrics and make data-driven recommendations for clinic profitability and efficiency.
• Regularly review financial reports to provide input on a cost-effective approach to operations.
• Implement and oversee a Purchase Order Process.

Patient Experience and Quality Assurance

• Foster a welcoming and compassionate environment that prioritizes client care and satisfaction.
• Address and resolve any client concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Utilize the EMR system to monitor client feedback through surveys and implement improvements to enhance client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with therapists to develop client-centric processes that support optimal therapeutic outcomes.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, licensing, and certification requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date certifications, licenses, and records to support quality control and legal compliance.
• Implement and monitor best practices in client care, safety, and clinic hygiene.

Marketing and Business Development

• Participate in the development and execution of marketing strategies to attract new clients and expand the clinic’s reach.
• Provide input on growth opportunities and potential new services aligned with client needs and market trends.
• Lead the execution of, and participate in, the implementation of marketing event planning for community engagement.

Data Management and Reporting

• Track and analyze key performance metrics, including client volume, revenue, appointment trends, and outcomes.
• Generate regular performance reports for the leadership team.
• Use data-driven insights to improve operational efficiency and enhance client outcomes.

Qualifications:

• We are looking for someone who is motivated by action, results, and getting things done. This new team leader must have demonstrated success in relationship-building and fostering a compassionate, patient-centered environment. We need someone who is people-focused and has experience managing multidisciplinary teams, engaging with patients and families, and building community partnerships.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in healthcare management, ideally within a rehabilitation or similar clinical setting.
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field; related specific certification strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in healthcare financial management, including budgeting and billing.
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, detail orientation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on client-centered care.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently

Growing practice based in Fuquay-Varina is hiring speech language pathologists for a PRN to full-time position. Educational Requirements:
One must have a master’s degree in speech-language pathology to practice. Some states will only license speech pathologists who have graduated from a program that is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. 

A Day in a Speech Pathologist’s Life: 
On a typical day a speech pathologist will: 

• Diagnose the nature and extent of impairment and record and analyze speech, language, and swallowing irregularities by using written and oral tests, as well as special instruments.
• Develop individualized plans of care for patients.
• Select augmentative or alternative communication methods for their patients that could include automated devices and sign language. They also teach them to use these methods.
• Teach those with little or no speech capability how to make sounds, improve their voices, or increase their language skills to communicate more effectively. 

Special Skills: 

ASHA offers the Certificate in Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). It is considered voluntary certification but it is important to note that those with it may be more desirable job candidates. In addition, according to ASHA, some states and school districts offer those who have it pay supplements. 
While your formal training will provide you with technical skills, you will need certain soft skills—personal qualities—to succeed in this field. Speech pathologists must be compassionate, patient and have good active listening and speaking skills. They must be able to think critically in order to evaluate their patients’ progress and adjust their treatment plans when necessary. They must be detail oriented as well.

Occupational Therapist Position

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor coordination, home assessments and adaptive equipment, and other occupational therapy needs as defined by medical conditions. Based on this assessment and evaluation, the Occupational Therapist helps to determine a treatment plan, performs interventions aimed at improving and enhancing the patient’s well-being, and evaluates the patient’s progress.

• Provides service within the scope of practice as defined by the state laws governing the practice of Occupational Therapy, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with other members of the health care team.

• Follows the plan of care by leading the patient in the use of therapeutic, creative, and self-care activities to improve functioning and safety.

• Observes, records, and reports to the supervising nurse and the physician the patient’s response to treatment and changes to the patient’s condition.

• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and participating members of the health care team in the areas of therapy in which they can participate to assist the patient.

• Visits patients according to Plan of Treatment, completes a progress note for each visit, and submits progress notes to the agency at least twice weekly.

• Completes all patient evaluations and develops the OT plan of care within state specific guidelines. Reports outcomes of evaluation, goals, and anticipated projected frequency of care to supervising nurse within 24 hours of the evaluation.

• Participates in staff conferences and committees as necessary.

• Provides supervision of the OTA as per SER policy.

• Prepares a written discharge summary and/or a written summary report on the patient’s condition at least every 30 days.

• Conducts patient assessments evaluating the level of function by applying diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests.

• Provides in-service education as requested

Required Skills

• Must be a graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association approved occupational therapy program.

• Must have a current license to practice occupational therapy by Board of Occupational & Physical Therapy Examiners.

• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle.

• Current CPR certification required.
