Claire Tero

Claire Tero was born and raised in San Jose, California and graduated with her BA in Anthropology from the University of CA, Santa Cruz in 2011 and with her MS in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University in 2013. Claire spent much of her young life traveling with her British parents and visiting England and other countries, hence motivating her passion for a career that would offer variety in working with people from many cultures. During her graduate school program, she traveled to Nicaragua where she was a teacher for 6 weeks for young children who had many undiagnosed special needs. She is extremely passionate about helping children with special needs and their parents/caregivers get the most out of their schooling and lives. Claire has also been a respite caregiver for parents with children with special needs.

As an Occupational Therapist, Claire has a variety of experience working with both children in the school setting, and adults in skilled nursing facilities, inpatient, outpatient, assisted living and home care.  Within Claire’s career, she has taken courses and utilized  “Handwriting Without Tears” curriculum, sensory integration, and dementia care. She is passionate about applying her knowledge to her therapy sessions to help her clients and their families get the most out of their treatments. 

Claire is married into the military lending to her variety of occupational therapy experience and has lived and worked in New York, Hawaii, and California. She is extremely excited to be settling in North Carolina soon, and furthering her career in pediatrics with Speak Easy Rehabilitation, PLLC.
